18 Dec 1823-A man named Jim J., a freedom seeker from South Carolina, is caught in Boone County and held by Jailer Benjamin Willis . Justice of the Peace Absalom Graves, of Burlington, KY, was to be contacted by the owner to retrieve him. He had been in jail for several months when the ad was placed in April of 1824.
